This house has been influenced by the Hispano-Islamic culture he was exposed to during his stay in Europe from 1921 to 1924.Vilamajó`s fondness for the Islamic tradition is evident in his handling of vegetation, light and water and in the subtle gradation of external spaces. In Montevideo, Uruguay, there are more than 50 architectural works designed by Julio Vilamajó, which makes him known as one of the most famous architects from Uruguay.
